Warden’s Comments

Our Slammer is a no-holds-barred, muscular Syrah that keeps fruity ripeness in check. Full-bodied with sweet dark berry flavors, a touch of chocolate, and a lingering finish. Our Slammer Syrah is well-balanced with a rounded mouthfeel that makes it enjoyable now or through years of sentencing.

Surveillance

The grapes for The Slammer were crafted in hand-selected small lots to maintain vineyard diversity. In order to preserve the fruit-forward character of the wine, gentle winemaking techniques were used and the juice was fermented at low temperatures (65°F with a maximum of 75°F). The wine was aged in neutral barrels for a minimum of 6 months.
